I aquired this lathe in the spring of 2009.I was looking for a older woodbed lathe and happen to spot this on Pittsburg's craigslist. The lathe came to me by a rucker through the state of Penn and NJ from Mark Bloom (thanks).
The lathe has no name, numbers on the castings, went through the Vintage Machiery Site to see if I could find a match with no results
I built the lathe entirely from recycled lumber. The bed was milled from 3x10 pine crating material,I cut a rabbet joint along the top of the beds to accept a metal strip ,for the tailstock and banjo to ride on.The legs were bandsawn from 6x6 PT railroad ties.Hardware from my stash of parts and such
You can turn 7' between cnt's and 18''over the bed.Overall I am happy with the results, need to find a counter/jackshaft to complete the job somday.
