Comments:
This is a Craftsman tilt top 8-inch table saw of uncertain age. I inherited it from my step-grandfather and had used it myself for at least a dozen years. Although unrestored, it is in perfect working order. There is no model number on it anywhere, nor is there any sign of a plate that has been removed. The miter gauge (not shown) and rip fence are both embossed with the Craftsman name, and there is a Craftsman decal on the front of the base. On the left side of the base is a decal that says SKF Bearings. The ½ horsepower Craftsman motor, although older than me by three months, is obviously much more recent than the saw. The motor identification plate bears a date of 10/55. I have received many helpful emails about this saw, and all agree that it was made for Craftsman by Walker Turner. It is very similar to a model in the Walker Turner catalog from the mid-1930s, which can be found on the OWWM website. I no longer own this saw; it has found a good home with someone who appreciates vintage power tools.
