This was built by the late Larry Reyes from Eugene Oregon, an accomplished welder for my Father in Law and has been used extensively by him to make bowls. He was a logger for many years and cut all of his own working stock. He is now 98 and is no longer able to see well enough to use it so I inherited it. It is very heavy, 300+pounds. The motor is a Direct Current Dayton 1 1/2 HP single phase with electronic speed control.
The stand is made from a fir laminated beam and is extremely stable.
I repainted recently.
