A neighbor told me someone gave him an old band saw "that looks home made". It had been sitting for some time on a scrap heap on the bed of a broken down flatbed truck on his property (a common sight out in the beautiful high desert). "If you want it, take it".
I immediately recognized the distinctive lower wheel. Like all the other W.W. Edwards, it has no original table. This one has the name cast on the front of the arm, not the back like the others. Although there is also a faint Edwards name cast on the back as well.
I'll probably strip the wood off this one and display it somewhere on the property. Yes, yard art. Out in the Mojave a few more years outside won't hurt it. The desert is kind to iron.
