Picked up this J-170 Yates American lathe from a individual in March 2008 located in NJ. The condition was unknown and priced that way. Upon arrival found the tail stock end cast base missing about a 10" section. Motor is the original 120/220V-1ph 1HP. Had to totally rewire and change out the heaters on the magnetic starter when I change to 120V. The photo is the machine as received missing the tin sawdust deflector. The banjo was originally a delta and recently replaced with a YA banjo that required me turning a knurled knob. Still in search of a 12" original YA tool rest to replace the Delta.
