Comments:
I got this Delta Model 785 Band Saw in the Houston (West U) area back in 2006. It is in very good original condition and appears to have been used very little if any at all. The Delta name decal is in fairly good shape also for its age as you can see. Not sure what my plans are for this band saw for sure yet...I may just leave it as is in the original conditon and maybe sell it off to a collector for a show piece in a shop or business or offer to restore the little 785 band saw for someone also since this is right in up my alley and I have been doing more and more restorations by request "For Hire" these days.

This Delta Model 785 10" Band Saw appears in the Dec. 1931 catalog for a price of $17.85. The stand, v-belt, and motor pulley were optional itmes or an additional $6.50. The 785 10" band saw last appeared in the 1937 catalog and Delta discontinued its production in Oct. 1937. The sales price in 1937 was now $19.50 and includes a disclaimer as follows: "This machine is not designed to take the place of the No. 768 10" band saw, or of the No. 890 14" band saw, but for the small shop will be found to handle a wide variety of work at a very reasonable cost and a great saving of time and labor." This tells you where this saw stood exactly in the Band Saw pecking order per Delta in those days...LOL

I'm guessing from the alloy type wheels on the saw that this is a later years production model of this band saw in its final form before they were dicontinued in late 1937.

Lower main casting number is: SBS1
