I had a Makita 8" table saw that just wasn't quite what I needed. I searched the local C/L listings and found this saw two miles away. The owner had had it listed for a couple of weeks and wanted it gone; he had owned the saw for a number of years and for a whole list of reasons he could never get the saw to work properly. The motor ran smoothly and the blade turned so for $50 I took a chance and bought my first vintage saw. Everything that could be out of adjustment was out of adjustment and filthy, the top was covered with rust and greasy grime. After eight hours of cleaning and adjusting the saw passed the nickle test. Only one part needed paint, the jointer blade cover. This saw even has the original Rockwell drive belt which bumps a wee bit. I was looking for a decent saw, this thing is amazing and as a bonus I got a jointer too. Quality cast iron tools and gold money seem to go hand in hand. I just purchased my next project, and old Craftsman 103.2002, I guess I'm hooked.
