>>HISTORY<<
May 2004:
I purchased this drill press, at the Royal Oak Michigan ReTool (local used tool store).
When I hesitated at the price the salesman threw in a 1950s Craftsman 3/4 HP dual shaft motor that I had my eye on, for parts.
This machine is all original and complete, except for the chuck removal wedge (original chuck key, spindle cover and table tilt alignment pin were intact).
Also, the belt appears to be original--it has a raised lettering area on the back with "Atlas Press Co, Kalamazoo, Michigan" and OEM part number info.
I'll spruce up the base, clean the table top, lube the necessary points and put it to work.
UPDATE-May 2009:
Added pictures of ho-made cabinet. Cabinet built of 5/8" plywood (recycled underlayment from floor upgrade) with 2x4s below top at mounting points, assembled with glue and pocket screws, brush on machine gray oil base paint.
Added auxiliary table with fence for woodworking.
UPDATE-September 2012:
Replaced motor power cord with 18-3. Drilled and tapped ground screw to inside of motor base.
Flushed, repacked, and reinstalled original ND ENDEE 8013 motor bearings.
UPDATE-October 2013:
Added Atlas model 1010 pinion shaft hub with three spoke feed handles.
Added Delta/Moffatt flexible neck lamp.
