This disk sander came out of an old foundry that had been a family-run business since the 1940s, and was in use until they went out of business and cleared out their equipment inventory in 2009. I know very little about the history of this particular machine, but understand that the original manufacturing location was just a few miles from my house. From background that I've been able to track down, I'm led to believe that this is a first/early generation machine based on design items such as the cast iron tilt handles and table-raising handle (rather than handwheel). Photos below are "as arrived." I did not need to do any significant restoration work on the sander, but just cleaned it up and put it to use.
