Comments:
I bought this shaper off of my sandblasting guy in Houston fully "sugar" sandblasted which also included the original 1/2-HP 3450 RPM Craftsman motor...the Shaper had been painted green with a spray can which was a drippy bad job and was laying in a back room unused for many years. I made a new fence from MDF laminated with 1/8" solid surface material. I repainted the motor and replaced the capacitor and cord on it... I used a new Craftsman grinder stand to mount the Shaper on. All sandblasted cast metal was primed with the Eastwood Companies "Corroless" one part rusty metal primer originally developed to protect oil rigs in the North Sea... then all castings have been top coated with US Paint Awl Grip 2-part linear polyurethane mixed to match the original King-Seeley Grey enamel color. This medium duty King-Seeley Shaper runs very smoothly at 9000 rpm's and makes beautiful cuts.
