oil bath spindle cartridge in situ. Impeller in sump chamber drives oil up tubes in cartridge sidewall to trickle over upper bearing. Crowned pulley for 1" flat belt.

motor and belt in place. Ratio of pulley circumferences x 3450 = 7995 rpm. A smaller crowned spindle pulley was available for 12krpm operations.

Table casting = same as for the other D&W floor shapers. On more common table-hung design, the inner pad rectangle is drilled/tapped to mount the spindle housing.
