My Grandfather bought this American #77 planer as a used machine in 1936. The machine weighs 16000 lbs and requires a 60 hp, power supply. It will plane up to 90 lineal board feet per minute. Will size lumber from 1/2 inch thick and 1 inch wide up to 4 inches thick and 16 inches wide. This machine will produce dimensional lumber, flooring, siding, shiplap, v-joint, and well cribbing. The planer operated on our family farm until 1991. We have donated it to our local Historical society, and now we operate the planer annually for demonstration on the occasion of the Museum Harvest Festival Day.
