Comments:
The wooden table saw that this fence belonged to was in the shed at Mitchell & Wilson's Building Supply in Gananoque in 1975 when I bought a package deal of sash making machines from them. It was mine for the taking, but I didn't have room to store it. I will always regret not bringing it home. But the fence was so cool, and didn't take much room, so I just brought it. Since then I have concluded that the saw was almost certainly made in Gananoque by E E Abbott, whose factory was almost in sight of Mitchell & Wilson's. The fence has hung on the wall of my shop ever since I brought it home. I have seen a fence like this refered to as a parallelogram fence. This one is a bit more sophisticated than most. Besides moving in and out, it tilts like a jointer fence, to compensate for the fact that the saw blade didn't tilt.

The steel pins on the under side corresponded to holes in the table, giving the register required with the saw, while making it easy to remove.

All the hardware is wrought iron except the stamped strap hinges.
