I have scoured the countryside looking for a larger-sized disk sander and happened to spy this on eBay in the Spring of 2000. The machine was originally used in the Grumman plant on Long Island and I purchased it through SAG Harbor Supply at a very reasonable cost. The machine features a rack & pinion table-raise and worm-gear table tilt. The 1-horse motor gets its 3-phase power from a Phase-a-Matic converter and has worked great since the Spring of 2001.
Pictured with the machine is a MAX disk sander miter gauge I modified to fit the State's table. The miter guage permits the user to easily sand complimentary angles and always get a perfect 90-degree assembled-angle.
The best disk adhesive I've found is Freeman's Latex Adhesive from Freeman Pattermaker's Supply ( http://www.freemansupply.com/ )
