I found this at the Mile High Flea Market in Denver. The owner gave me a price and then proceeded to drop the price while I kept quiet. Not a word, and he eventually got down to what I considered completely fair ($10), especially when you add in the perfectly good V-belt that came with it. The machine has no markings, so my declaration that it is a Powr-Kraft product made by General Hardware is based strictly on comparisons to machines in this photo index. It is a perfect match in appearance to Jim Johnson's WGV5153A, which was found in a 1956 catalog. Ed Bertchy's grinder, also a match, is identified as a 84KR5154, seen in a 1955 Powr-Kraft catalog. Larry Burney's 1960s WGV5153A from the 60s also matches. Brian Kachadurian, who knows more about everything than I do, says mine is probably a 1960s WGV5159.
The shaft is 5/8". The right wheel cover and right tool rest are missing, and I am in the market to replace those items. Otherwise the little fella looks good and feels ready to go to work after a little tinkering. May not even need a disassembly!
