I bought this from a man who was thinning out his tools in order to downsize to a townhouse. He had gotten it in the 1980s when the company he worked for was getting rid of it. It is powered by a 1/2hp Dayton motor which looks to be about the right age to be original. It has the nylon drive sleeve, which I think puts it after 1952. The catalogs from 1952 and earlier describe a steel drive sleeve, while 1954 and later mention a "Zytel" nylon drive sleeve. The chuck is a Jacobs 6A.
