This lathe was recently the subject of an investigation to determine its manufacturer. This can be viewed at: http://owwm.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=119497 It was found to be a Duro made Powr-Kraft machine. The investigation was complicated by the fact that these machines are almost identical to those made by Power-King. It was purchased through an ad in a local newspaper in 1999. The previous owner told me it was purchased by his grandfather and used by him in his home until he died and it was passed on to him. The PO did not know where it was originally purchased. It came with everything shown which includes just about every accessory listed in the Montgomery Ward catalog where it was advertised. In addition it had a 1/2 HP Emerson motor. I don't know if this was original. This machine has an interesting clutch which disengages the drive pulley from the spindle. When I first got it I needed to rebuild this clutch and build a cabinet for a base. Shortly thereafter I moved and unfortunately it sat in my shed until now (didn't have room in my new shop). The cabinet suffered (varmints) but the lathe was kept dry and is largely in the same condition it was in when it went in my shed. I would like to restore it but will have to wait as I have several other machines in the queue. More photos can be seen by going to the link above. This machine was listed as item# 184 LR 748 in the 1933 Montgomery Ward catalog, page 14, which can be viewed at: http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/detail.aspx?id=843
