There is some discussion of this planer here: http://www.owwm.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=76883 . After hearing rumours of its existence for years, I fanally tracked it down in May 2010. By that time it had been sitting in the woods for 15 years. The wood frame is beyond saving, but with careful observation and a few assumptions, I think I have figured out what it was like originally. I would like to rebuild it with all new wood frame and restored iron parts. There is no name on it, but there once was a concentration of wood framed machines in this are (around Gananoque Ontario) and there was a maker of machines in Gananoque beginning in 1858. That is the only basis for the attribution to E E Abbott. It has infeed and outfeed rollers on the top, but none on the bottom. The thickness adjustment is by wedges under each corner of the table and a hand wheel to pull them forward or push them back.

My second visit, after I raked away the leaves and pioson ivy. The big wooden pulley is on the feed drive.
