I bought this from a woodworker in upstate NY. He told me that a young guy told him about a large machine rusting in a farmer's field. Well he bought it and did most of the dirty work of cleaning it up and repainting it. I don't think he used it too much but it was operational when purchased this summer off of online auction. Was converted from wide belt to motor belt drive as purchased. Well made motor mount but only had a 3hp single phase. I plan using a 5 hp or a bit larger motor.

This is a very well built machine. All there with minimal damage. Has a lot of dings on both table ends. Looks like the jointer was enlisted as a worktable. The things people do with fine old arn machinery are shameful. Yet it has survived still intact. One of the table mounting brackets is cracked and another one was somewhat roughly welded but aside from that it is in amazing condition. I was quite surprised to see the original milling marks on the table tops. All adjustment bolts and knobs have been freed up and cleaned. There are a lot of them!

This may be an original round 5 inch 2 knife cutter head. The gibs are made up of 5 sections. Original bearings? They seem fine but I'll take apart and look at them.

I'm still in the process of cleaning adjusting and aligning the tables and then I'll put it right to use. Fence is massive and works well. Three sets of holes in the outfeed table for mounting. Beautiful handwheels. This machine is the oldest I have purchased and yet the overall quality is near the top. The main casting is very rough on the bottom where you don't easily see it but beyond that it is very cool machine.

Information on this site is not voluminous but still very helpful. I've read the weight is 1400 lbs but I'm not sure if that is the weight of the 12, 16, 20 or 24" model. Seemed like the grunt factor in moving this thing was a lot more.
