Label Plate reads: AMERICAN WOODWORKING MACHERINY CO, ROCHESTER NY USA. Base forging has raised lettering with No 1 above the label plate and American below the label plate. Each part is stamped with a number begining with a prefix of 26L-. On the opposite side of the base is a brass label plate with the embossing: Shop No 114901, indicating that this machine was part of a factory at one time. The cast iron tilt top dimensions are 35" wide by 44" long with the 14" blade bisecting the center. A retro-fit 5 hp single phase motor hangs off the rear and drives a double set of v-belts. The single arbor shaft sits on two journal bearings with an oil bath lubrication system. The 36" long fence slides along a graduated lock bar and is locked in place using a jam screw and floating handle.
I purchased this saw locally in 2000 from a retiring woodworker who had advertised it as a 12" tablesaw saw. Measurements indicated that the saw could support a larger blade. I have a 14" Forrester Woodworking II ABT blade with a single 5" stabilizer installed. Run-out at the blade tip is less than .003 inches. This saw is the basis of my home woodworking projects. I can cut up to 4 1/2" thick stock but normally use a sliding cutoff box for most work. Additional photos are available upon request.
