Comments:
I bought this machine from a steel shop that was closing down in Wayne, NJ. I don't think they ever used it, since there was still wood dust embedded in the sanding disc, and no signs of metal grinding are present. It came with the original miter gage. Powered by a 2hp Peerless 3 phase motor. Interestingly the starter is a 2 phase reversing starter, wired to work with the 3 phase motor. I need to dig into this and see what that's all about. Belt driven with 2 vee belts. This is the first model A24 sander of this style posted to the site. The others are the "pot bellied" style, which I believe are not as heavy duty as this model. The table and base are cast iron, but I think the rest of the base is all aluminum. Steel disc. I plan on fully restoring this machine.
