My grandfather passed two years ago. Growing up I spent a great deal of time in his wood shop working with tools he had bought new in the 1950's through the early 70's. I had been promised his tools "someday" but when someday came, none of his tools could be found (one of his "friends" were storing them for him was all we were ever told, but never the name). I set out to rebuild his collection of tools and have only a handful left to locate. Which brings us to this saw, and my first restoration.

I picked up this saw, my 4" joiner, and my scroll saw from a guy who was selling them for one of his tenants. The saw's stand and motor mount were in bad shape as was the belt. The top was rusted badly, but few if any major dings or pits. I took it off it's original base (which I still have) and mounted it to an old 50's typewriter table. Space in my garage is limited and having all my tools on wheels is a must. The bearings are in great shape and it cuts very straight. All in all this has been a great project, and I'm looking forward to another (just don't tell the wife).

Added a fence from a vintage Delta that is much more accurate and easy to use than the one that came with the saw. The saw was sold in May of 2014.
