Acquired off of a craigslist add (Kenosha Racine Wisc.) from a guy who attended an auction of a defunct factory in racine wisconsin. He had said it was sitting unused for ten to twenty years when he bought it. He had it sitting in his garage for over a year when he put it up for sale. It was in very good shape, covered with a nasty whitish/grey powder paint residue. Hardly any rust in bed and almost none could be found anywhere on machine. I used a mixture of wd40 and a light oil with oil stone to clean it. It only took a few passes. I then stripped entire machine of paint after meticulously disassembling to then paint it a dark blue. The color of dark blue was mentioned in the H@A catalog as the color of choice by H@A on this site? The original color was a blackish grey. To my eye, unappealing. I very much like the new color! Also an original Commercial sales decal from a Chicago wholesaler. It says: "Woodworkers Tool Works: Address given is: 222-224 S. Jeffeson st. Chicago Illinois. (The decal is in amazing shape and am very happy it has survived in its condition.) All machine parts are cast iron, Including all the intricate fence parts. The exception is the belt guard on the back of the machine. The adjustments are very easy and positive. The table top is 8 inches wide and the 3 knife cutter head is 6" wide. Length of table is 42 1/2 "
The motor and switch are an earlier replacement, in working condition when I bought it. The switch was a large white plastic furnace type switch that had been broken and repaired poorly. I replaced it with a thirty amp rated switch. The motor is a 2hp. Magnytech motor. It has allot of torque and is wired to a 220 volt, 2 pole circuit. The machine cuts like a warmed knife through butter with no latter marks on wood. I am putting my delta jointer on. c list upon completion of this post.
Would like to replace motor and switch with a more correct 1930's vintage type down the road if one should come my way.
