I picked up this little scroll saw because it presented a mystery. It's well built and solid, but I couldn't identify a maker. (Although similar to the Delta Specialty "American Boy" series of scroll saws, the differences confirmed that this was not from their lineup.) So I posted it on OWWM.org (the discussion forum that you can link to using the "Discussion Forum" menu button in the header, above), and it took the guys there less than an hour to come up with a definitive match! (Special thanks to Bob Holcombe who made the ID.)

This saw was part of the "Red Jacket - Craftsman Wonder Home Workshop", which was a series of machines driven by a hand held drill which had a universal motor mount designed into its body. That motor mount, the "Red jacket", is what fit into the cradle on this saw. The entire home workshop line can be seen in the ad which is posted in the images area for this manufacturer's history page. To get there just click on the "Waco Tool Works" name at the top of this page, and look for the menu button that says "Images".

Because I don't have the drill with its universal motor mount, I'll have to devise a different way to fit a small motor into that cradle.
