This late model Millbury was purchased from a closing shop in Rhode Island in 2011. The machine was primarily dedicated for sash making.
It was retired perhaps ten years earlier, when it's operator retired, in favor of a sliding table shaper. The machine was demonstrated, and seems to run fine. I have yet to put it into service, as I have to move it to my basement shop - and it's heavy!
In contrast to earlier machines, each tenon head can be adjusted independently, or both together, eliminating tedious fussing when changing set ups.
The upper cope was not in use,nor was the trimmer, and the lower cope has a Schmidt head that uses corrugated back knives. It did come with both original cope heads and the trimmer head.
The second photo shows the heavy counterweight that the PO hung off the bottom of the table. Also in that photo is a little truck sitting on the table, which mounts to a post below the table, and snugs up to the bottom of the rail. Both add-ons are to help reduce vibration and lift through the tenoning process.
The machine is powered by a 3HP three phase motor.
