This little gem belonged to my Dad, who bought it while he still lived on the farm. With it, he built the first house that my parents owned, and he continued to use it for many projects until he developed Parkinson's Disease, which made using it too dangerous. From about 1960, until just last year, it resided in the shed where it housed generations of mice. When we brought it home, it was packed solid with mouse nests, and very dirty, not to mention the rust. I cleaned it up, scraped the inside with a razor knife, and soaked the rusty parts in evap-o-rust. The nuts, bolts, and pieces small enough had a session with a wire wheel on my husband's vintage Dunlap Grinder. The top needs to be ground, but the next owner will have to take care of that, we don't need that kind of precision. I did not paint it, and I have all the pieces, including the original blade, which is on the saw in the pictures. This saw works like a champ, sawing through old oak like butter. I bought a Forrest Woodworker II blade for it, and I can't wait to see how that works! The motor is a Craftsman, 1/2 hp, 3450 rpm. It has one very small dead spot which has shown up only once. I think I'm going to love this saw.
