I don't know the history of the saw. It came mounted on a homebuilt table powered by an Emerson electric motor. Got it for $15 at garage sale. The motor is only 1/2 hp, 1725 rpm, open-frame, and weighs about 30 lbs.! The saw itself has a fence which is positioned with a set-screw mount on the side. The blade is covered on one side with a removable plate which hangs on a couple of pins. There is a removable plate in the table top which makes me believe that you could mount a dado stack. The blade arbor is lubricated with a grease cup. I suspect this was a saw aimed at the hobbyist.
