One of a pair of brass Shimer tongue and grove side heads for use on the larger class of planer matchers. This example is the grooving head and Measures 6-1/4 inches in diameter and fits a 1-13/16 inch spindle. Top screw allows for fine vertical adjustment while side set screw secures head to shaft. Shimer manufactured heads for a number of applications including door cope heads for tenoners, sticker heads for doors and windows, dado heads, box board matcher heads, blind rod heads, jointer heads, etc. etc. They share in common circular cutter bits which are rotated out when grinding required it.
