Long story short - needed to cut 11" deep. Rang up Woodworkers Supply and ordered the Delta 14" BS extension kit and blade. Went to Big R and bought Delta band saw. Very next day, a friend says "hey, I've got some of my grandfather's tools in the garage - wife says must go - a band saw and disk sander, do you want them?" Needless to say I never even opened the box of the new one. Put the 2009 kit on the 1947 saw and I was cutting. Thanks to Delta for sticking with a good design for 80 years!

Only downside to the kit is you have to give up your octagonal guide bar.
