I believe it's a 1968 or close. This machine has a really cool history. I worked for a guitar amplifier manufacturer where it was used to make many amplifiers for rock artists such as Paul Stanley, Dimebag Darrell, Scott Ian and many other well known guitar players. The occasional guitar body and neck were also cut on this machine. It was one of the primary machines used in amplifier production but was later replaced by a CNC machine. Being a huge Delta fan I asked the owner of the company if he was willing to part with it. I was really hoping he'd say yes since I'd grown so attached to it. His reply was "since it's not being used and just taking up storage space you can have it." That really suprised me since I was ready to hand over some cash. Thanks again R.S.
These are the pictures after I got it home. I've been using it for a couple of years now. I took good care of it so it didn't really need a full restoration just a good cleaning. I'm currently using a craftsman motor with a custom made bracket. The original motor is a 3hp, 3ph beast. I plan on using it again after I run new wiring to my garage and add a VFD. It runs great with the craftsman but I need a bit more power for some of the projects I'm doing.
Every time I use it I think about all the guitar amps that are out there thanks to this machine.
