Bought the machine for 500 Canadian dollars. Yes I know, it seems a lot for 1975. Still is. Installed over the years a proper reversing switch and, to accomodate the counter clockwise rotation I had to grind off a lip on the inside of the front protection plate. Having the sander rotate either way saves a fair amount of paper. The 15 inch size is not a common size for auto adhesive so it's cheaper to buy 16" inch pre-cut and trim it when it's on the disc. I installed a nice 1/2 thick aluminium plate to replace the thinner wobbly one and finally a direct drive 2 hp motor, new, powers this vibration free toy. It was designed for precision cabinet or foundry work. We use it to level off the boxes that we manufacture before gluing on the tops and bottoms. It's grey,it's gritty and it's great.
