This 1953 Delta band saw with the cast iron base wasn't a basket case, but it was rapidly heading that direction before I got to it. Most the bearings were in poor condition and it had been sitting quite a while. It has the original 3ph RI motor, which I got going with a TECO phase converter. That sweet little converter also allowed me to add an original Delta switch. All the painted surfaces were sandblasted, primed and painted (spray gun) with SW Industrial Enamel using a Delta Grey color code I pulled from the mothership wiki. All the unpainted hardware was de-rusted in EvapoRust and cleaned on a wire wheel. I didn't polish anything. I've been using it, so it's a little dirty in the pictures, and I've been to busy to put it on a proper mobile base...all in due time I guess. The arbor, wheel, guide, thrust and motor bearings were all replaced as well.
