I picked up this bandsaw at a local on line gov't surplus auction. I was outbid on it, but did wind up with a similarly sized White bandsaw that was for sale at the same place. Shortly thereafter the auction company called me up and says that the guy who won the Wadkin walked away from it, and as I was the underbidder, was I interested in getting it at the price I had bid? Since I had got a better price on on the White,I tried to haggle, but they were not interested in offers, instead they put it back up for auction. Although I did not need two bandsaws, in fact I don't really have any place to use either one, I managed to get it for less than half what I bid for it initially. This one also came out of a local high school shop and has benefited from multiple coats of paint that are now flaking off everywhere.
The adjustment to control the tilt of hte upper wheel is missing. Also the recoil spring to prevent the guide bar from falling down is missing, although I have already acquired a replacement. THe rear table is just made of plywood, either it came without one or it has gone missing somewhere along the way. Upper and lower guides look usable. Will be a fun restoration project.
