I bought this in March of 2012. It spent it's entire life in a High School in Davis, California with it's twin sister. The guy that I bought it from kept the other lathe. Interesting factoid - The seller had used both of these lathes while attending the high school many years ago.
This is a gear head lathe, D1-3 spindle, with a foot brake. An Aloris AXA quick change tool post and tool holders, Buck 6" Tru-Set (?) 3 jaw chuck. No other accessories or tooling was included. Included the original 2hp 3 phase motor, which I am now wiring up a VFD to.
This is a very smooth running lathe and in very good condition with little wear, if any. I am in the process of cleaning off a layer of oily grime, draining and refilling oil reservoirs, cleaning and oiling the ways, etc. After that I will begin using her. She's a beauty!
This is the newest piece of machinery in my shop! My Bridgeport is a 1967 model, and all of the rest of my machines are from WWII, mostly Delta.
I no longer own this lathe. It was sold to be replaced with a WWII era lathe.
