I traded another machine for this unusual scrollsaw in 2012. It is an unusual variation on the 24" scroll saws of the mid-1930s. It has gusseted overarm and base castings which were changed to smooth tubular castings in later years. Since I'm not sure of the model No. I'm calling this an SJ 30 after the casting number on the crankcase.
The Sunlight motor is the correct vintage, but has a single sheave on it and I wonder whether it is, in fact a replacement. Most WT machines in my experience, had WT badged motors. However, other similar WT made scrollsaws of the same vintage do have a Sunlight motor.
There is lots to do to put this machine back the way it should be. It will be a fun project.
The heavy CI belt guard seems newer to me. It may be a later addition. It's hard to know from the catalogs and other machines in the photo index. There is only one other "hi-rise" WT scrollsaw in the index at the time of writing and it lacks the buttresses to the arm castings.
If you have some additional information on this machine please get in touch with me or post your thoughts on the OWWM site.
