I called Don Hege @ Central Machinery - gave him the serial # off the machine and Don had records that showed that this machine was made for the US Government in Robbins, GA on 5/14/52. This was one of 6 machines that were made at the time. I bought this machine from a fellow member of this site ( sorry, I forgot the name )who lives near Fayette, Arkansas. He told me that he got the machine from a person in Oklahoma, where it had been sitting unused for the past 20 some odd years. That's all I know of the history of this machine. This machine has not been restored yet, but you can see what an improvement it is over my old mortiser ( on the floor in the photo #2 LOL )
