Comments:
Purchased this from an old Textile plant that was closing down. They had a very old Cincinnati Tool and Cutter Grinder that had this mounted on the table. The unit is used to hold virtually anything you might want to grind at any angle on the table relative to the grinding wheel. The base and head both rotate 360 degrees with increments at every degree. The arbor is tapered to take a #12 Brown and Sharpe collet. The tail stock is matched to the head stock so that you can hold a long piece supported by the main head on one end and the tail stock on the other. The unit can be used to grind or sharpen virtually anything. You could use it for grinding straight or tapered shafts by driving it with the motor. Or by indexing you could sharpen cutters, drill bits, etc.

I stripped the entire unit down and rebuilt it for use on my Brown and Sharpe Tool and Cutter Grinder. New bearings and seals, ways and spindle polished, re-lubricated and assembled. The unit runs smoothly and quietly.
