This is an early 1950's Craftsman/King-Seeley 18" scotch-yoke design jig saw... this type of jig saw is shown in the 1948 Craftsman power Tool catalog and into the late 1960's catalogs. The upper arm could be totally removed as to allow unlimited cutting with this saw in this "Saber Saw" configuration. The semi-cast steel table tilts from zero to 45 degrees, this saw weighs about 68 pounds and was powered by a 1/4 to 1/3-hp 1725 rpm motor via an A-type V-belt mounted either below or behind the machine.
This saw is owned by Guy in the Houston/Friendswood,TX area that I did a complete tear down and restoration for him in my shop.
