There is not much history on this particular machine. I purchased it from a gentleman in North Carolina that got it from a garage sale and he did not know any history or how it got there. The machine was very dirty, had some missing pieces, and the variable stroke did not work. I stripped it down to bare metal, fixed and readjusted the machine, and painted and reassembled it.

This is a duplex die filer which means that it has an upper and lower table. On the upper table it is able to file by passing a file all the way through an object or alongside an object. On the lower table just one end of file can stick out so that you could do the inside rim or edge of a die. The stroke length is adjustable from basically zero to 1.5" by rotating a knob on the back of the machine. By adjusting the stroke you can have the file reach down inside something an exact distance. It takes a wide variety of parallel files and will even accept a hacksaw blade if you grind the ends down slightly. Smooth, quiet, easy machine to use for fine filing work and very nice to use for fine hacksaw work.

Comments: Duplex Die Filer. Upper table has file passing all the way through. Lower table is used for just the end of the file to stick out and file the top edge of an object.
