Comments:
My father acquired this drill press in the 1960's and kept it until he passed and it went to my sister. She had it for about 10 years and hardly used it in her and her husband's art work. Recently they ask me if I wanted it and I declined because I felt I had no use for it and they were going to get rid of it. Just the other day I had a need for a drill press and phoned her and she still had it. I picked it up and had to remove the motor because it was so heavy. I was lucky it fit in my Accord trunk. After careful inspection I noticed it was in great shape and very old but no brand name or markings other than the cast numbers under the table and motor mount. I Googled for a few hours and found VM.org and started researching. WOW! What a terrific resource. With help from OWWM and forum postings I now realize that this is a machine worth having and fixing up. As you see, it has been stored with care and has very little rust although slightly dirty. I plan to restore it to look like new. It was missing the belt guard and I think I found one, a cone head. No decal, badge, name or ID anywhere except cast markings under table and on motor mounting plate.
