This saw came to me, courtesy of a local scrap metal dealer. He had picked it up on a road side clean up day in a local community; obviously no known history. There is no miter, blade guard/splitter or motor. The Craftsman stand it was on was kept by the dealer for a tool application of his own. I based the approximate date of the tool on the 1936 catalog on this site. As already known by others here no model number is known. The catalog referred to it as a "Heavy Duty Bench Saw" so I did as well. All moving parts move freely and only light rust was found on the table which I removed prior to photo's. When he showed me this saw I immediately recalled the discussion on this site in reference to the "what model is this really" when another such saw was mistakenly referred to as a Model 471. I was impressed with that saw at the time and was thrilled when this one showed up. The Cat. number for this saw is 2233. I'm hoping I'll be equally surprised when a miter and blade guard show up as well. Boy they sure made some great tools back in the day.

The top and motor attachments which the scrap dealer had removed from the stand. What appears to be a large washer to the left may actually belong on the saw arbor.
