This saw was spotted for sale on eBay, and with the Seller's permission I am including pictures here due to its rarity.
The saw carriage rides on a pair of rails under the table, which is to be pulled through a cut for crosscuts (similar to the way the Craftsman "Builders Saw" operates); and can be locked into place for rip cuts. This saw was used in a commercial setting, and was powered by a 2HP 3-Phase motor. (The Owners Manual recommends 1 HP.)
The miter gauges are the two pieces laying on the saw table, which mount to the front rail (one either side of the line of cut), and can be set for anywhere from a 90 degree cut to a 45 degree cut.
The saw dates to the early 1950's or later, based on the fact that the Owners Manual listed Heston & Anderson as being a Division of St. Paul Foundry & Manufacturing Co., which merger happened sometime between 1949 and 1952 (according to the Heston & Anderson history page).
The table carriage travels 23", with a listed crosscut capacity of 18". It can bevel to 45 degrees. It has a 5/8" arbor, and is listed as being able to accept 8", 10" or 12" blades. The maximum depth of cut for a 10" blade is listed as 2-3/4". The table is 51-1/2" deep by 39" wide. Per the specs, this machine weighs approximately 400 pounds.
This saw is described and illustrated in detail in Patent No. 2,601,878. The Patent Application can be accessed in the Patents area of the Heston & Anderson manufacturer page, and there are copies of the line drawings from that application in the Images section. A copy of the Owners Manual has been uploaded to the Publications area.
