I found this saw on CL. The PO was about an hour away. The PO is a young man who was recently medically retired from the Army after he suffered from a traumatic head injury when an IED blew the door off of his Personnel Carrier and it hit him in the head. He said he only remembers coming to in a hospital in Germany. He said the saw left Missouri with him when he went into the Army over 10 years ago and he's carried it everywhere. He's now enrolled in college and moving forward in life. He was luckier than his brother who lives one block away and lost an arm and a leg over there... to an IED. He no longer has the room for the saw and wanted to pass it on to someone who would restore it. I assured him that is my intentions. I wished him well and thanked him and his brother for their service.
The saw looks rough but has very light surface rust. It's missing the Assembly splitter, handle and saw guard so I'll be looking for that or fabrication of another. I've never seen this type of saw before, outside of this site so I'm guessing this was strictly a Craftsman adventure???
The motor is a Gould Century 1.5hp 230/115v. That information came from a schematic tucked inside of the motor. There are no identifying markings on the exterior of the motor.

Comments: The original owner has placed a color coded wire schematic within the motor indicating how to change this from 230 to 115. Motor runs really strong.

Comments: Under the hood we see the two horizontal rails the Saw and Dust Chute assembly rides on when used as you would a Radial Arm Saw. If used as a stationary saw a pin is placed in the rail at three separate locations in the rail.
