Acquired this machine in a trade for a newly cheaper drill pres plus 100 bucks!
I know little about the planner but as you will see it did have a stay at Franklin- McKinley School district, somewthere USA. I have not ran the machine but the owner I got it from said he loved it and it worked beautifully!
Haven't looked at the dreaded gear but something tells me it is the older style gear.

Gear Box Cover- Notice hole drilled. I did see a reference to drilling this hole to allow heat to escape
