This is a re-post since my origianl post vanished from this site when some upgrades were performed.
This Craftsman "Double A" metal lathe was bought brand new by my Grandpa at the Sears Store in Linclon Park Michigan in 1948 that I inherited when he passed on in 1994. It has an old 1/4-HP Howell Electric Motor on it that was made in Howell Michigan. I replaced the original 4 jaw independent chuck withe new 3 jaw automatic scrollig type chuck on a custom balanced stainless steel face plate.
These small metal lathes where made for Seasr Roebuck and Co. by the Double A Products Co. of Manchester Michigan who was a subsidairy of Brown & Sharpe Mfg.Co.
