I picked up this saw around the the first part of November 2011. All I know about it is what is casted into the upper frame of the saw. ADVANCED ENGR CO S F
It is a 20in saw that is all original right down to the original Westinghouse motor and Westinghouse knife switch. I found it posted on CL and though that it was to cool looking not to get. If any body reads this and happens to know about the company I would love to here from you.

I just receive this email from the gentleman that I got the saw from.
Hi Gary, below is the info I have regarding the band saw.
The Advanced Eng. band saw was gifted to me in the late '80s or early '90s by the son of a prestigious SF architect. It had been in his family for approx 50 years. with little use.
The story which accompanied the gift is that the saw was owned by a South SF contractor in the mid
1920s and was transported to Yosemite Valley and utilized on the construction of the Ahwahnee Hotel.
As this item ( and another ) was gifted I've no reason to doubt the story. The fellow who gave me the
items had been a long time customer of my antique restoration business in Palo Alto.
Good luck with the saw and keep me posted if you learn of more specifics about the saw or mfg. co.
Regards, Rich
