This drill press is not mine. This Remmel drill press is on display in the Kewaskum Historical Society Museum in Kewaskum, Wisconsin. This Remmel drill is a variation of the 1894 patent [ No. 525742 ]. This drill press has a wood base, and a wood upright. This Remmel drill has both a foot pedal and a hand-feed wheel. The foot pedal raises and lowers the spindle on this drill and can be disengaged by turning a thumb screw so that the hand-feed wheel can be used to lower and raise the spindle. Some variations of Remmel drills had only a handwheel feed, and other variations had foot pedal feed only.
