Comments:
I bought this Drill Press (DP) from Craigslist.com in Oct. of 2011. The DP was in good condition. The head unit needs a good scrubbing from the 50 years of grime and old grease. There is a lot of surface rust everywhere on the it, but luckily there's no cracks or chips. The motor came with it, an OEM Craftsman 1/2 horse (model # 113 19352). Eventually I'm going to clean the DP up, give it a two tone paint job and lube it up. i will also re-wire the whole thing, whoever had it last wired it wrong and melted the motor wires. i will also re-mount the switch to the back of the DP on a bracket. The DP is broken down as far as i feel comfortable doing. Sorry about the bad photos but Ill get better pics once i finish the restoration.

update 11-17-11
just finnish restoration last night. looks good, i like the color combo (anodized bronze & black) and also i had a old Corvette Stingray emblem sitting around so i put it on the side of the head unit. I only had a couple problems putting it together. first i got paint in the upper quill receiver (I'm not sure what it is called but its the 2nd hole from the bottom in the head unit where the quill goes through) which i could not get the quill in easily until i cleaned it out. second i dropped the motor from my bench to the concrete floor (rolled right off the bench) but luckily it just dented the terminal cover and stator cover. i did add a new linked belt and a new on/off switch (Kreg router table switch). im not a fan of the original equipment switch or the bracket i made for the new switch so, eventually ill find a new location for it and another bracket. also I am going to add a work light to the side. eventually i want to find a Multi-Speed Attachment (craftsman 1969 catalog # 2338), i have looked around and only found one on eBay for the price of $150 so ill keep looking until i find one for a little cheaper.
ill update once i complete the accessorizing.
