Aquired in 2006 from a farmer in Delta, PA. According to the previous owner, it was aquired by him from an old lumber mill in Lancaster PA. The machine was in running condition when puchased, but nothing like it is today. No paint was visible, the original motor (5Hp 1930 LIMA) was never attached to the machine and was mounted on two adjustable runners bolted to the floor. I fabricated and attached the motor to the machine and custom made the belt guard, then decided to use the latest Powermatic paint scheme. The planer works great and is a real treat to use. This CD-16 is one of the earliest I've seen, there is a small decal located on the front(protected by tape in the picture) stating "16" Powermatic Machine Co. Speed 4000 rpm". This one is a decal, not the metal badge rivited on, as I have seen on others. There was no bolt holes in frame for any motor mounts and had to be drilled to mount the custom frame.
