My hopes were to find a heavier old Delta lathe but they were always coming up 100's of miles away. This one came up locally so I purchased it. New wood using Maple really stiffened it up. New bearings, a 3 phase 3/4 HP and a VFD really made this quite a decent lathe. I also made 1" riser blocks under the head/tail stocks as well as the banjo. Of course there was the paint job!

I've turned some pretty large stuff on it. The VFD lets me get the RPM down.
